Multiparty Maryland (MPMD) is a non-partisan, non-ideological political advocacy organization working to bring multiparty democracy to Maryland and beyond.
MPMD aims to break America's failed 2-party system by targeting its root cause: our antiquated system of "winner-take-all" elections in single-member districts.
MPMD is committed to replacing this system with elections based on proportional representation (PR). PR is the most popular electoral system in the world and ensures that political parties win seats in proportion to their share of the vote.

MPMD sees multiparty democracy and PR as the radical reform agenda necessary to save American democracy from its rapid slide into authoritarianism, restore political power to working people, and break oligarchic control of our political system.
